Wigwam

Wigwams are domed shelters that were a favorite of the Algonquin speaking tribes of the northeast. The frame of a wigwam was covered with animal skins or woven mats. Some wigwams were almost conical in shape like a tipi, while others were more rounded in shape. All wigwams had a central fire pit and a smoke hole to keep the inside of the wigwam smoke free. Wigwams, like tipis could be transported and use over again.
