The People of the Far North Clothing Page
In the winter Inuits wore two sets of clothes to keep warm from their
heads to their toes. An inner suit was worn with the fur turned outside
in to provide warmth next to the wearer's skin. The outer suit was worn
with the fur facing away from the wearerto seal in body heat
for its Inuit bearer. Most items of clothing were made from the skins
of Caribou because it was lightweight, durable and of course warm.
